I started this blog as a way to explore and investigate the local wildlife reserve here in Mittagong in the Southern Highlands of NSW, Australia. I hope others might enjoy seeing some of our lovely mountain - we locals adore it!

As this is predominately a picture blog, I think I should explain my thoughts behind the images. They are a rambler's record. I like to take photos as I ramble around and become curious. I like to identify the plants and birds I see, but from a casual, rather than scientific documentation perspective. Although, as I have yet to find a catalogue or survey of plants and animals in the reserve, I am mindful of elements such as scale and location. I apologise in advance for any inaccuracies in this regard.

I would love it if people more familiar with the plants and animals helped identify them too.

Mainly, I just love to climb and wander and explore the mountain area. It's fun.
